Getting More Likes On Facebook To Increase Business Success

Getting more likes on Facebook is an important tool for businesses and other organizations to get the word out about their product or service. Social media has changed the way society accesses information. Those who are looking to reach customers are looking to harness the power of social media. Facebook has become a powerful marketing tool.

A Harvard student named Mark Zuckerburg, along with several of his friends, developed a service called Facemash to be used by their fellow Harvard classmates in 2003. Other schools jumped on the bandwagon. Then the public at large began using the service. In October, 2004, Facebook in close to the form that we know it, was launched. The number of users will soon reach one billion.

Finding nearly one billion people of different ages, locations and other demographics is akin to finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for those who are hoping to sell something. A new way of developing a client base has emerged. Part of this marketing strategy involves getting users to click to the business or organization page and "like" it.

This method has become more popular and effective than link building, the previous premiere internet marketing tool. There are several reasons that the like method is important. One reason is that users are actual people. The data is not skewed or cluttered by spammers. Users make a decision about whether or not to throw their support toward a page, product or service.

When users see that a friend has liked something, they see it as an endorsement for the product or service. They may want to check it out themselves when they see it on their friend's page. Interaction with clients and prospective clients is another positive aspect of this method. Using this strategy is also free which is important in the current economic climate.

Several effective ways to get fans have been developed. Sometimes, all it takes is to ask. Tagging those people featured in posted photograph or statuses can drive traffic to a page. This will also make available those pictures and statuses to the friends of those tagged.

Some will offer incentives available only to those who have become fans of the page. These may include some type of video, image or even a discount or coupon of some sort. Marketers should identify what their target audience values to make the best use of the incentive tool. Allowing comments from fans and non fans is a good way to increase traffic.

Page administrators may install a badge to be clicked to lead to their page, or may tag or may use any number of ways to generate interest. However they do it, getting more likes on Facebook is a vital tool in modern business marketing protocol. Television commercials and print advertising are no longer the cutting edge. Those who want to progress with the times will go with the trend of social media.
